Hello, my name is Josey Trimble. I was born near the
small town of Clyde, Kansas and lived on my family’s small farm for about
eleven years. For the next seven years I moved around a bit to cities such as
Newton, Wichita, and Strong City, and finally Topeka, KS.
Some of my favorite hobbies include listening to
and performing music, spending time with family, playing volleyball, hiking,
and traveling. I try to make time for these interests even with a hectic
schedule. I currently supervise at Washburn’s Rec Center, hold office in a few on-campus
music organizations, sing for a local church and WU music ensembles, and will be starting a new job at
the Washburn Review soon.
I originally came to Washburn to study music education
with an emphasis in vocal music. After a couple years I realized music
education was not the right path for me so I switched to a double major in music
and mass media with an emphasis in creative advertising and public relations.
Mass media appealed to me because my roommate is a mass media major and I have
constantly been interested in the work she was doing in her classes. I also
love the number of diverse career opportunities this major can provide. I am
excited to keep learning all I can about mass media!
I love that you have such an active pursuit in gaining more knowledge about music. Definitely keep that up, music is something that I could never live without!
