My name is Elijah Reed, and I grew up in Topeka, Kansas. I was born in Atlanta, but my family moved here when I was little. I have two brothers. My hobbies include playing basketball, video games, listening to music( mainly Hip-Hop and R&B), and writing. I'm a huge basketball fan as well as a fan of 1990's cartoons and sitcoms. I went to Highland Park High School, and was heavily involved in the theatre department. In fact, I was a part of both of the groups from Highland Park that were ablet to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. When I was twelve year old, I got to interview Jackie Robinson's widow, and I think that impacted heavily on my career choice. I chose to study Mass Media because It has always interested me, and I want to go into creating television shows and films. I think that media, especially music and television, inform, entertain, an speak on social issues in a way that nothing else can. I fell in love with television at a young age, and in addition to performing, I would love to be able to create projects. I chose Washburn University because of the closeness to home, and the down to earth feel of the campus.

Since you are thinking about creating your own TV Shows and Films, I'm wondering what kind of shows you are thinking about making because I would really like to see some shows come back to life, more shows like Martin, Fresh Prince of Bel-Air
